How to Protect Your Forum from SPAM

Spamers... They are everywhere... Spaming our email adresses, our blog coments, guestbooks, of course forums etc

So what can we do to prevent spam (we can never stop it completly)? I'm tallking about forums btw

1. Turn on Image Verification at signup form, so they must enter correct combination of letters and numbers shown at picture into box.
2. Turn on email confirmation so they will have to confirm their email adress by clicking at link generated by forum script inside email they will get.
3. Ban free email hosting services, here's list of services we have on ABF:

@mail.ru @yahoo.com @hotmail.com @web.de @bk.ru @cashette.com @russsearch.ru @e-mail.ru @russsearch.net @yandex.ru @gawab.com @list.ru @inbox.ru @o2.pl @tut.by @oxidiser.net @freenet.de @30gigs.com @sibmail.com @megabox.ru @pisem.net @mymail-in.net

List will grow i'm sure, but with these added to banned list we noticed large reduction of spam posts lately Most of these are Russian services...
4. Ban some words spamers are using
5. The last and least popular in my opinion - Ban their IP adress
