I have been acussed of Spaming on other boards for wonting to see if i should promote an item on my sites. First and formost i am seriuse about your comments as it helps me to diside weather or not i should continue to promote an site on my site. this is my only intintion here. please let me know if this is a bad thing to do on discussion boards like this. is this not what discussion boards are all about getting feedback to help eachother out?

it's good unless you leave referral link, it might look like spam (like your post in other thread here on ABF too, but you already have some posts so i didn't delete it) if you posted that for your first post you'd get banned here for example
if you post just link to program, or even better just mention programs name, with no ref link in it you're safe no one will see it as spam and won't attack you...

boards are strange thing, they are here for helping and talk like you said but they get hit very hard with cheaters and spamers day by day believe me i know... so if something even looks like spam (even if it isn't) you will probably get problems

i see there is a vary fine line between the two but leving a link to have other webmasters check it out is a good thing to do? but not if your new to the board. i am a newbie to the Buisness and relie on boads like this sometimes to help in my disissions on wich way to go with a certin thing or things i just dont wont to be Marked as a Spammer.

yes but not with id in link, especially if you're asking for other peoples opinions about program because if you don't know if it's good there's no point in promoting it... but if someone is asking for good program with lesbian sites for example then you leave ref code and write few words why you use that program etc, you know why is it good, that will never get you any problems

after all, you ask on boards and if admins/moderators think it's spam they will remove posts, simple as that - it's their job

The biggest thing that annoys most people that use boards is people spamming with links, if someone wants to sign up or buy something they will ask you about it.

If you are asking about products on your own site, you don't need to give links etc, you can just ask do you think selling a dildo on a lesbian site is a good idea.

You have asked a question and not posted any links. Sometimes you need to post a link to a site, you strip out the affiliate link bit and it will make people see your question/reply is an honest one as you are again not spamming them with an affiliate link.

but if even when i am thinking about promoting a site i would surly use my affiliate link regrdless. but at the same time be vary seryuse. but i would for now on put it at the bottom of my Post or coment from an answered post as i see everyone does i think that is the best way to do it. without Spamming the board this leves the reader the option of clicking the link or egnore the link. what do you think?

I think your on about signatures. Like at the bottom of my post. I am not actually typing them, you only do them once in your User CP and they will appear all the time.

That is not spam because I am not telling people about my sites or to click links, they can choose to visit them if they wish.

So true, cheaters is the biggest problem, if you run a good top list i suggest you check your stats daily for productivity, hitbots and iframers are all over the place.
Its usually the new guy that opens a site just to make a quick buck, caring less if he gets bust or not, i have delt with so many in the past, they would do the most unthinkable things to scam you.
In this biz you need to be on the alret 24/7 never trust or let your guard down, EVER!
