I am completely new to this. I build websites, and a friend of mine suggested I look into this as a possible revenue stream. I have a ton of questions, this being the first of them.

Do I have to maintain paperwork as a Webmaster for an site like PornAccess or one of the other sites with tons of material. That seems a bit impractical if not virtually impossible.

Ok, so this is the way I understand it.. if you have a website with some text and a couple graphics, and you are promoting an adult site then 2257 dosen't effect you, but the second you add any kind of nude image, you become one of the two types of producers defined in Title 28 Part 75 Section 1 of the code of federal regulations which is cited below. Hope this helps

(1) A primary producer is any person who actually films, videotapes,
or photographs a visual depiction of actual sexually explicit conduct.
(2) A secondary producer is any person who produces, assembles,
manufactures, publishes, duplicates, reproduces, or reissues a book,
magazine, periodical, film, videotape, or other matter intended for
commercial distribution that contains a visual depiction of actual
sexually explicit conduct.

i haven't - i am using 2257 info that affiliate programs provide

Kide is right. as a secondary producer, it is not your responsibility to get the information directly from the models themselves, it is your job to get the information from the primary producer, and then make record of which primary producer each piece of content came from. Never buy/use any content from any producer which cannot provide you with 2257 info, because even though secondary producer inspections are very rare, they are still a possibility.

Check out 2257 Tracker in the tools section if you are looking for somthing to keep track of 2257 records.. here in about a month it will have secondary producer capabilities..
